2024-pang valley flood exhibition

The Pang Valley Flood Forum, in collaboration with West Berkshire Council, Project Groundwater, and local Parish Councils, cordially invites you to the Pang Valley Flood Protection Exhibition on Saturday 20 January, from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at the Hampstead Norreys Village Hall, RG18 0TR.

The exhibition will bring together an impressive collection of organisations dedicated to tackling flood-related concerns in the Pang Valley area. It's absolutely FREE to attend, and no booking is required.

Here's what's in store for you at this informative exhibition:

  • Discover Local Projects: Get first-hand information on the latest local flood protection initiatives and learn how they're safeguarding your community.
  • Meet the Experts: Engage in conversations with key organisations, including the Pang Valley Flood Forum, West Berkshire Council, Project Groundwater, Environment Agency, Thames Water, and more. They're here to listen and answer your questions, provide advice and support, and share valuable insights about flood preparedness.
  • Hands-On Experience: Witness innovative flood protection devices in action and explore the incredible 'Floodmobile', a flood house on wheels equipped with around 50 different property flood protection measures. It's your chance to see directly how to make your home more flood resilient.

You can also enjoy some refreshments as you mingle with our knowledgeable stall holders.

Cllr Stuart Gourley, Executive Member for Climate Action, Recycling and Biodiversity at West Berkshire Council, said:

"Flooding can cause widespread devastation to communities and infrastructure, so it is important we all take measures to prevent and prepare for floods now and in the future.Residents attending this event will be in a unique opportunity to reinforce their understanding of flood protection and connect with the experts in the field."

Sarah Hale, Environment Agency Area Flood and Coastal Risk Manager, Incidents, said:

"We know the devastating impact that flooding can have, which is why we are happy to be supporting the Pang Valley Flood Protection Exhibition. Helping people and communities be prepared for the risks and impacts of flooding is a top priority for us.

"People can find out more about flood risk and sign up to receive flood warnings on the GOV.UK prepare for flooding website."

Richard Aylard, Director of Sustainability at Thames Water, said:

"We know the devastating impact flooding can cause for customers and the communities we serve.

"Events such as the Pang Valley Flood Protection Exhibition are a great way to share practical steps that people can take to protect their homes, and for Thames Water to demonstrate the collaborative work we're doing with our partners to help mitigate and prevent the causes of flooding."
