DBS Umbrella Service
Processing DBS checks on behalf of a business, organisation or an individual.
You can submit and manage applications from anywhere using our online system, HR Connect, and you'll receive the results back electronically.
If you are an organisation or business doing a number of DBS checks, we can provide you with a login so that you can verify ID yourselves, at your own sites, without the need for your staff to visit us.
We can also provide this service to those who are self-employed or individuals needing a one-off check. Please be aware that in this instance, we will need to verify your identification against your DBS application. You can do this by visiting our Market Street Offices in Newbury.

The DBS publish eligibility guidance and have an eligibility tool to help you determine which level of check is needed.

Free DBS checks for grass roots community groups and organisations with up to five volunteers.
DBS checks are charged at £20 for all other VCS organisations with an option to request a free check should an organisation's financial situation mean they are not in a position to pay.
Getting set up
To be set up to process online DBS applications, please email HREnquiries@westberks.gov.uk.
We'll send you two registration forms that must be completed and returned to HREnquiries@westberks.gov.uk or by post to Human Resources, Market Street offices, Newbury.
When we receive the completed registration forms, we will arrange your access to the online system. This will take approximately 48 hours.
You will receive emails from noreply@employmentcheck.org.uk containing your login information.
If you need guidance on using the online system, making changes to your users or to notify us of changes to your contact details, please email HREnquiries@westberks.gov.uk.
Payment
We will invoice you at the beginning of each month for any DBS checks you have processed, using the information provided on your registration form.
