Solar Together Berkshire
The second round of the scheme, designed to make clean energy more accessible and affordable, is now open.
More than a quarter of all carbon emissions comes from households, which means our homes play a crucial role in achieving carbon neutrality target. Switching to Solar Photovoltaic (PV) energy is an excellent way to reduce carbon emissions and decrease electricity bills. Last year's scheme witnessed over 200 successful installations in our community, demonstrating significant progress in adopting clean energy.
Group-buying scheme for solar panels and battery storage
Solar Together Berkshire is a solar panel and battery storage group-buying scheme. It enables householders and small businesses to install Solar PV systems and batteries at a competitive price with a trustworthy, pre-vetted installer. Any tenant, homeowner, small business or common hold association in Berkshire can register.
Reducing Carbon Emissions
One of the most significant benefits of installing Solar PV is that is helps to reduce carbon emissions. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas that traps heat in the atmosphere and contributes to climate change. The electricity generated by solar PV systems produces zero carbon emissions, making it much cleaner alternative to traditional fossil fuels.
Decreasing Electricity Bills
Another significant benefit of installing solar PV is that can help reduce electricity bills. Electricity prices are constantly increasing, and homeowners and businesses are continually seeking ways to save money on their energy costs. Solar PV systems generate electricity from the sun, which means that you can generate your own power and reduce your reliance on the grid.
Other Benefits
In addition, there are several other benefits to installing Solar PV. Solar energy is a renewable resource, which means that it will never run out. This provides a degree of energy security for homeowners and businesses, as they can generate their own power without worrying about fluctuations in energy prices or supply. Additionally, Solar PV systems are low maintenance and have a lifespan of up to 25 years.
