New Chairman of West Berkshire Council elected
Councillor Billy Drummond takes on the role of Chairman for 2024/25
Councillor Billy Drummond will be Chairman of West Berkshire Chairman for the coming year.
The Chairman is the formal representative of West Berkshire Council and as well as presiding over Council meetings they also officiate at civic functions and also welcomes distinguished visitors of national and international significance on behalf of the district.
Billy Drummond was elected at West Berkshire Council's Annual Meeting yesterday evening. He will be supported in the role by Councillor Tony Vickers who has been elected Vice Chairman.
Speaking about his election, Councillor Drummond said:
"I regard it as a great honour and appreciate the trust that all Councillors have put in me, and I also promise to represent and promote West Berkshire Council as proactively as possible, telling everyone what a great place West Berkshire is to live and work."
Councillor Billy Drummond replaces the outgoing Chairman, Councillor Jeremy Cottam.
