Community RePaint
Donate your unwanted paint so it can be reused locally.
With our Community RePaint scheme, residents can drop off paint at either of our Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs). Residents visiting the recycling centres will also be able to take away paint free of charge.
This is a great way to pick up some free paint. In addition, this has benefits for the environment as the paint will be put to good use rather than being sent for recycling or disposal.
This scheme is only open to householders and we cannot work with traders, retailers or manufacturers.
To drop off or pick up leftover paint, please make sure you have registered for a permit to visit the site and booked an appointment before you visit.
Bringing paint to the recycling centre
When you drop paint off, the recycling centre staff will assess the paint and see if it is in a good enough condition to be reused. If it is, it will be put in the Community RePaint area. Residents then can collect it free of charge for DIY jobs or local community projects.
Collecting paint
Before you collect paint, you will need to sign a disclaimer and provide some details while you are at the recycling centre. This is so we can keep a record of where the paint is going, to ensure we comply with our legal reporting requirements.
Once you get home, if you're not happy with the quality of the paint you have collected, you can take it back to the recycling centre for recycling.
Community groups
If community groups need larger amounts of a single colour paint for a project, please contact us to see if we can help.
