DBS
Some roles, both paid and voluntary, require a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. A DBS checks whether someone has a criminal record which will show details of all spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings held on central police records.

You can find out more here about whether a role requires a DBS check and how to go about obtaining one.
